Yep, that's right. The Lawrenceville Artists Studio Tour is getting an award!
Each year the Lawrenceville Corporation hosts an event called the Community Catalyst Celebration where it presents two awards. One of those awards is the Community Service Award. It is presented annually to individuals/initiatives who make volunteer leadership in Lawrenceville their second job. (Bet that sounds familiar to artists.) This year, the Lawrenceville Corporation membership will recognize the Artist Studio Tour.
Last year the Studio Tour recorded its highest ever attendance, and we're hoping it'll continue to grow in coming years. Radiant Hall is proud to be a major supporter and sponsor of Tour, and we're happy to send our Executive Director, Ryan, and Lawrenceville Studio Director, Seth, to do double duty at a second job for a good cause.
In the mean time, join the celebration:
When: Thursday, June 9, 6 - 9 pm
Where: The Clemente Museum - 3339 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15201
About the Lawrenceville Artists Studio Tour
What started as a group of 10 artists has grown into a community of over forty-five participants. Every fall the tour educates visitors about different artistic practices and invites people to Lawrenceville to enjoy the neighborhood. The tour is always free and open to the public. About the Lawrenceville Corporation
The Lawrenceville Corporation was formed in January 2000 as a merger of the Lawrenceville Development Corporation (LDC) and the Lawrenceville Business Association (LBA). Both the LBA and LDC had been in existence since the mid-1980s and were formed in response to neighborhood decline stemming from Pittsburgh’s economic crisis during the 1970s and 1980s. The merger yielded a new organization with a strong combined board of directors: the Lawrenceville Corporation. Its mission is to act as a catalyst and conduit for responsible growth and reinvestment in the Lawrenceville community. Learn more at http://lvpgh.com
