Our very own Founder and Executive Director, Ryan Lammie, has been named one of Pittsburgh Tech Council's 2016 "Creators of the Year." He's in good company: other honorees include artist Clayton Merrell, the fabulous Tara Sherry-Torres of Café Con Leche (full list here).
The Tech Council's goal to recognize "people who are transforming our region through their vision and impact on the Creative Industries Community." One thing you can say about Ryan is he definitely has vision. As for impact, Radiant Hall recently underwent a big expansion (increasing its studio spaces by 150% at two new locations to meet greater demand), so RH is well on his way. It's been a ton of work, but we're making progress!
Being an entrepreneur - especially in the cultural sector - is really hard work and it involves dozens of people behind the scenes. Some days we're pretty sure we're ready to take over the world; other days we just want to crawl back into bed. So it's nice to be recognized. Thanks, Tech Council!
We're also looking forward to celebrating with our friends tomorrow, Thursday June 9. The VIP mixer kicks off at the Fairmont Hotel downtown at 5 pm (tickets $25), and the awards party runs 7-9 pm. RSVP required; buy tix here; full event schedule here).
